In match play, hit the green and pressure the opponent
The speaker's match play strategy is to try to put the pressure back on the opponent. When he is hitting first, his number one goal is just to hit the green and let the opponent react to what he did. He typically plays a bit safer in match play, but says it can depend on the opponent: if the opponent has already hit one in there close, then he attacks the pin rather than playing conservatively.
