Move an excessively strong grip left to reduce hooks

For a right-handed golfer, three to four visible lead-hand knuckles with both hands rotated too far right indicate an excessively strong grip. If normal swings launch low and hook left, move both hands left toward neutral; the instructor explains that the hands otherwise return toward their natural position and turn the clubface closed.
