Feel clubface at the top with a putter flat spot
The instructor describes a top-of-backswing drill using a putter. With the thumbs down the shaft, at the top of the swing an open clubface makes the flat spot of the putter grip point straight down to the ground; twisting your hands so the flat spot points a little more up to the sky lets you see and feel the putter face.

Why this context matters
Uses a putter as a training tool because the flat spot on the grip makes clubface orientation easy to feel.
