Add the right hand in an overlapping grip
The right hand joins in what the speaker calls an overlapping grip: the right pinky overlaps the index finger and middle finger of the left hand and fits into the crease. Set the bases of the right-hand fingers securely on the grip first, then fold the heel pad over to form another crease. The result is two parallel creases, or parallel Vs; keeping them parallel means the hands are working together rather than against each other.

- This is called an overlapping grip — the pinky is overlapping the index finger and the middle finger of the left hand
- The right hand fingers, the bases of the fingers, fit securely on the grip first
- Have the heel pad of the hand fold over, forming another crease
- Then you have two parallel creases, two parallel Vs — they should be parallel
