Why decelerating a partial shot sends it long and left

The Porzak Golf coach explains a common fault on partial shots: golfers typically don't change the length of their swing, and then their mind decides it's too much, so they stall - the hands stop past the body and the clubface turns over a little. For a better player this often means shutting the face down and missing long and left.
