Check trail elbow with a tour stick on your shoulder

Hold an alignment or tour stick between the index finger and thumb and position it on the trail shoulder, neither too high nor too low. In the downswing, use visible room between the forearm and stick as the checkpoint; this contrasts with the forearm lining up with the stick, a position the speaker says he sees often and that disrupts even small pitch shots.

Try it

  1. Get your alignment stick or tour stick and hold it between your index finger and your thumb
  2. Position it on that part of your trail shoulder, not up too high, not too low
  3. When you come down, check you've got some room from the forearm to the tour stick

Why this context matters

Craig says the same gap fault shows up even on small pitch shots.
