Raise wedge launch by moving the ball up

To launch a wedge higher, the instructor keeps everything the same and moves the ball position up half a ball to a ball. He describes the result as a slightly higher launch and softer flight that still keeps a lot of spin, and frames this as his way of hitting it higher without throwing the club.
