Build the takeaway with an up-back-around cue
Curl the trail index fingertip into a hook while keeping the finger extended, then imagine the clubhead as an extension of that finger. Move the pointer up, then back, then around; add a twist and stretch the handle about five inches outside the trail leg. The coach says this pre-winds the movements and creates the takeaway before continuing to the top.

- curling the fingertip
- the first move which is the up then we're going to do the back
- twist it and then from there we just stretch it back a little bit
- going up back then around
- stretched it the five inches outside the trail leg
Why this context matters
The drill uses the trail index finger as a proxy for the clubhead.
