Map the course and pre-pick your club off every tee
Trevino says the biggest thing he learned from Jack Nicklaus (and Ben Hogan) was to make a plan: before a round, especially at a major, map the course out and decide what club you will hit off each tee every day, then do exactly that regardless of the situation. It is a pre-set, committed tee strategy rather than in-the-moment decisions.
