Hit hybrids like an iron, low point past the ball

Hybrids should be hit like an iron: hit down on the ball with the low point past the ball. The coach says this applies especially to the longer hybrids (four, five, six) and is even truer of a three-wood off the ground than a three-wood off the tee.
