Set your sternum over the ball to stop fat strikes
Fat and thin strikes can come from the sternum hanging behind the ball. If the sternum sits behind the ball as you come down, you strike the ground behind it (fat) or catch it thin along the ground. Getting the sternum lined over the top of the ball means you come down on the ball and strike the ball then the ground naturally.
