Draw a sand line to test low-point control
Lay an alignment stick in the sand and tap it to make a line, then position that line in the middle of the stance. Make swings with the clubhead over the line and try to enter the sand on the line or slightly forward; striking behind it indicates a low-point or shaft-lean problem associated with fat and thin contact.
