Grip down and narrow up to make a distance wedge
To turn a full wedge or short iron into a controllable distance-wedge shot, grip down about an inch, narrow your stance, and put weight slightly on your left. Swing shoulder to shoulder, wide to wide (three-quarters back and through) with less wrist hinge, feeling it as a short-game action.
