Take a proper left-hand grip
For a right-handed player the proper grip starts in the left hand. Hold the club out in front and check that the clubface is square and perpendicular to the ground. Run the grip from the base of the index finger diagonally through the palm, then roll or fold just the fingers into the grip. Finally fold the heel pad over so a crease, or V, forms; that V should point somewhere between the right ear and the right shoulder.
