Putt with a tight core and elbows pulled in
For a connected putting stroke the coach wants your core slightly tight, like you're doing a sit-up, and your elbows pulled in rather than resting on the sides of your body. When the core is engaged and the elbows come in, the hands stop being overactive in front of you and you can strike the putt with the shoulder-arm triangle instead of the hands.
