Chip-and-run a 7-iron up a steep green

For a chip up a steep slope on the green, the instructor uses a 7-iron chip-and-run, landing it about 25% of the way and letting it run out the remaining 75%. He chooses the lower-lofted club because the hill is steep and he needs the ball running up; he does not want spin, because spin would get the ball stuck and let it feed back down.
