Kneeling driver drill to shallow and hit from inside

A driver drill to shallow the club and stop a steep, over-the-top move. Kneel down (put a towel under your knees), stay bent over just a little, and swing the driver around and around without hitting the ground; if you hit the ground first you tilted too much and your head went backwards. It trains a more rounded arc - the proper geometry for a driver - and, the instructor says, keeps the club head behind your body as you swing down so you can't get steep, shallowing it out to hit from the inside. Once you feel it, stand up and gradually lower the swing until you reach the ball.

Try it

  1. Get down on your knees, put a towel down
  2. Don't hit the ground with the driver, you're going to swing around and around
  3. Once you feel that, stand up, do the club head above the ground, lower it till you get to the ball
