Keep the arc wide with a 130-degree right elbow at the top
To keep the swing arc wide, Amy Jo suggests imagining you are holding a large round tray, which spreads the arms wider at the top of the backswing. She wants the right elbow at about 130 degrees at the top; up to 90 degrees is acceptable, but narrower than that shrinks the arc, which she says has a bad effect on swing speed and the club face.
