Swing a sideways uppercut to stop over the top
A feel for the downswing/transition: think of it as a 'sideways uppercut.' From a loaded top, the trail shoulder stays back rather than throwing forward; the arm goes under and transfers energy to the lead hip, and only then does the trail shoulder fire late to drive through the ball. It keeps the trail shoulder from dominating the downswing too early.
