Clamp the trail hand to the lead thumb
The coach starts with a knuckle-pad placement held with a pinch. He describes rotating the trail hand about 45 degrees, extending the trail wrist back, bringing the trail palm to the lead thumb, and clamping so the trail-hand knuckle pads sit against the lead hand.
