Play a toe-down shot when the ball sits down in rough

For this toe-down shot, put the toe down, set the handle higher, aim a little left, get a bit closer, and swing across. This minimizes how much the rough grabs the club because the toe acts like a scythe as it brushes through the grass. This is useful when it is not quite as buried.

Try it

  1. Put the toe down, handle higher
  2. Aim a little bit to the left and a bit closer
  3. Swing across so the toe acts like a scythe as it brushes through the grass

Why this context matters

For a ball sitting down but not buried, as an alternative to the steep dig shot.
