Rail your takeaway hand path down an alignment rod
To groove the hand path, Porzak lays an alignment rod along the line of the golfer's feet and calls it the 'train track' for the hands. For the first half of the swing you keep the hands out along that line, in front of you; the body's turn only takes them 'up the escalator' later, not right away. The rod gives a clear reference so the hands stay out on that line early in the swing.
