Use a pitching wedge for a low pitch-and-run
When the pin is further onto the green and you have room to run the ball out, the safest wet-conditions shot is a low pitch with a pitching wedge. Play the ball in the center or just forward of center, choke down the grip, and make a small connected swing - don't think about releasing the club, just rotate your body with quiet wrists. It causes barely any ground disturbance; with about 20 yards of green, land it around five on and it runs out roughly 15.
