Connection drill: alignment rod under the armpits

For a stroke that moves too much from the elbows down, the coach has the player put an alignment rod underneath the armpits and create a little tension between the arms and the chest. From there the feel is the upper part of the arms moving the club back and through, which gives a sense of connection in the putt and should keep the putter face staying a lot more square.
