Hands forward to strike after the ball

The coach sets his hands forward at address instead of centered. He says hands forward puts the strike after the ball, while hands back puts the strike behind it. He adds that keeping the weight forward holds this same contact point throughout the swing regardless of backswing size, so the club reaches the ground after the ball the same each time.
