Predict the ball before every short-game shot

The instructor names the biggest skill in short game as predicting what the ball will do: before the shot, ask what it will do given the spin and flight if you land it on a spot, and visualize the landing options like tracer lines. Amateurs instead hit and get surprised, for example when a ball pitched into a soft upslope stops quickly.
