Add head weight when you cut down or grip down a putter

Cutting the butt end down or gripping down on a putter moves the weight closer to the fulcrum and makes the putter lighter, so you should add more weight in the bottom of the head. Adding weight in the shaft instead messes up the center of gravity. For every inch you cut a club down, you lose six swing weights, equivalent to 12 grams of weight.
