Build a doorstop under your back foot in a bunker
Rather than digging in and shuffling the feet in a fairway bunker, which drops you lower into the ground and raises the chance of chunking it, the coach has players create a little wedge under the back foot. Building up the instep like a doorstop outside the back foot keeps the player more centered and more on top of the ball, helping the low point stay past it.
