Alignment stick line drill for low point control
A low-point feedback drill: tap an alignment stick down to leave a clean line, position that line in the middle of your stance, and set the club head over it. The goal is to land on the line or slightly forward for clean contact; landing behind the line indicates not enough shaft lean and shows up as fat and thin shots. Scored over 10 swings, higher handicappers first aim just to make contact and then work toward five landings in front of the line; around seven or eight out of ten reflects good low-point consistency, and nine or ten indicates exceptional hand-eye coordination and a high-level swing.
