Build the single-plane address, then swing in and up
The instructor walks through the single-plane setup he learned from Mo Norman: at address the club lines up with the trail arm, the body is in the correct tilt, and the hands sit in a neutral lead hand / rotated trail hand position. From there the backswing is a rotation plus folding the trail arm up, which he sums up as 'in then up' and says produces a backswing on plane.
