Turn with tilt to take pressure off your back
Craig Hanson contrasts turning with tilt against bending or tilting without turning. He says when you keep turning while you tilt, the small of the back stays straight and pressure comes off the back, whereas bending or tilting without turn crunches up the right side and starts to hurt. His feel for it is opening a window, sticking the head out, and looking around the corner.
