Open-face, toe-down lob wedge off firm turf

For this higher-shot technique, open the clubface, lower the toe, and stand closer to the ball. Quality 58- to 60-degree lob wedges often have a shaved toe that sits closer to the bottom of the ball. Aim the face about two yards right of the pin and the stance about ten yards left, then swing approximately along the toe line with an out-and-across toe motion and little wrist action to produce more height and some additional spin.
