Band under trail foot to speed the transition

The instructor describes a transition drill with a resistance band placed underneath the right (trail) foot with some pull or tautness. Because arms and hands are often too slow in transition, keeping the right foot lower to the ground so the band stays taut lets you work on arm and hand speed instead of popping up off the band. Because the band pulls, it can also help give a little more lateral shift the other way. She notes it depends on what you are working on in transition.

Try it

  1. put it underneath your right foot
  2. keep your right foot a little bit lower to the ground and the band keeps its tautness
  3. work on your arm and hand speed versus popping up off the band

Why this context matters

A flex band held taut and anchored under the trail foot; the full anchoring is shown in the demo.
