Ferrule drill to stop scooping chips
For golfers who try to help the ball up by scooping, grip right down towards the bottom of the club at the ferrule (the black part), rest the club against your lead hip and push it away into your setup. Because the grip stays against your lead hip through the shot, it will not let you scoop or over-release, and it also keeps the club on a better swing plane.
