Play the downhill chip steep off your front side

On a severe down slope, changing nothing leaves you too shallow so you thin the ball. Grieve's fix: get steeper by standing wider, which loads weight onto your forward side and puts your chest in front of the ball so the low point is more forward. Play the ball back, add a little forward lean and hinge so the club works up and down, and make it a release-one short finish - a hands-and-arms shot without much chest rotation.

Why this context matters

Grieve says to reverse it for an upslope: ball forward, shallower, more of a release two.
