Exaggerate the new move in your pre-shot rehearsal
To help a golfer override an ingrained swing pattern, the speaker uses an exaggerated pre-shot rehearsal: before every shot on the course, make a big, exaggerated loop (out and under release) of the new move, then hit the shot, so the last thing the brain felt was the new pattern. He says that with repetition the exaggeration shrinks - it no longer needs to be a big loop, eventually becoming just a tiny figure eight.
