Rate missed putts by the roll, not the make
After a run of near-misses, Phil Mickelson stays confident by judging his putts on the quality of the roll rather than the result. He notes the last three were tracking, rolling, had good speed and weren't tentative, and reasons that if he keeps giving himself chances like that the putts will start dropping because he is putting well.
