Build a two-rehearsal pre-shot routine

For golfers who feel more confident with some technical preparation, the speaker often builds a pre-shot routine with two rehearsal swings: a first, more technical slow-motion version, like what Justin Rose does, and then a second where they turn it into the exact swing they will make over the ball, so the last rehearsal is the real one. He describes it as a funnel that narrows in, and says the first technical rehearsal tends to calm the golfer, which often lets the second rehearsal be freer.

Try it

  1. build their pre-shot routine so that there are two rehearsal swings
  2. there's a more technical, usually that's kind of slow motion version
  3. do a second one where they turn that into the one they're going to do over the ball
  4. their last rehearsal is the exact rehearsal

Why this context matters

He describes this as more his own approach, applied especially with golfers who prefer a bit of technical preparation.
