Train the release by focusing on the post-impact position
When working the release, the coach emphasizes one position: post-impact, defined as when the club head is about three feet past the ball (impact itself is at the ball). Getting the post-impact position correct raises your chances of arriving at impact with a square face, making it easier to square the face up. So you work the release by focusing on post-impact rather than on impact itself.
