Hold attention on one focal point in narrow mode

The speaker says that over a golf shot you have to stay in what he calls narrow mode from the moment you acquire your focal point — his term for where you focus your attention. Examples he gives include a target picture, grip pressure, or a word, such as Annika Sorenstam saying "one," then "one" again on the forward swing. As soon as the mind leaves narrow mode and gets bigger, he says, you let space in for negative thoughts and emotions, so you have to learn to hold your consciousness in narrow mode.
