Set up a low chip with ball inside lead heel

To hit a low chip-and-run, play the ball just inside your lead (left) heel with a little shaft lean, and set it so the grip's logo does not point at the middle of the ball. Avoid too much shoulder tilt so the lead shoulder isn't dropped, and feel the triceps resting against the rib cage with no daylight underneath. The goal is to keep the arms and the torso connected through the chip.

Try it

  1. Ball position just inside your left heel
  2. Put the club behind the ball with a little shaft lean
  3. Reduce shoulder tilt so you don't lower the lead shoulder
  4. Feel the triceps sitting to the rib cage and keep the arms and torso connected
