Line up the forearms to square the clubface
A square clubface at address is not enough on its own - the forearms have to be in line too. With his student Eric, the trail forearm sat much higher than the lead forearm, so the face pointed right; swinging out along the target line then left the face open, or forced wristy, flicky compensations that ruined contact. The fix is to hold the club out in front and get the forearms lined up (Danny squeezed the bicep in against the chest) so the body is set and the swing can flow without manipulation.
