Use the bounce, not the leading edge, to chip
Amy contrasts the sharp leading edge of the club with the bounce (the bottom part of the club head). To use the bounce, relax your wrist, use the weight of the club head, and let it drop on the ground. Chipping with the leading edge requires a lot of accuracy: catch it thin and it scoots across the green, catch it fat and it digs in. The bounce is meant to prevent the club head from digging into the ground too much.
