Lean into lead side on compact, low-sand bunker lies
When there's not much sand under the ball (a compact lie), you need the club to work slightly deeper into the sand. If you lean backwards you come out of the sand very quickly; if you lean in a little toward your lead side, you swing rhythmically downward and go into the sand a bit more. Set up as normal, then move a little more downward into your lead side to catch the sand on a slightly more descending blow.
