Use less loft to run out a long bunker shot
Instead of automatically using a normal bunker club, consider a stronger-lofted club such as a 9-iron or 52-degree wedge. The stronger loft allows a similar swing length to produce the carry without requiring as hard a strike. This can improve speed control and contact quality.
