Set the ball forward and sternum back to hit up with driver
For the driver, the speaker positions the ball forward in the stance opposite the lead heel and keeps the sternum well behind the ball. He says this creates a swing circle that bottoms out behind the ball and strikes it on the way up, which gives maximum distance. He warns that using this same setup with hybrids or fairway woods produces a topped shot.
