Keep the clubface square by pushing your trail palm away
For flickers or slicers, push the wrists and trail-hand palm away to maintain the structure and show the back of the hand. This position presents a square clubface instead of opening it. An open clubface can lead to the elbow popping out, the handle going behind the clubhead, flicky chicken-wing strikes, and shots far right. From the maintained structure, simply turn back down onto the golf ball.
