Check for upper-body reach with a forward ball
If a golfer reaches toward a ball that is forward in the stance, the upper body can move ahead of the lower body, leaving the lead arm low and trail arm high. The instructor says this promotes an up-and-down, across-the-ball swing; with an open face, it produces a large slice.
