Move the ball back in your stance to cure a slice
For a slice, the speaker moves the ball further back in the stance, which puts it on an earlier part of the swing arc so you catch the ball earlier than normal. Catching it earlier makes the ball start more out to the right, and combined with the correct face conditions (his second habit) this produces more of a draw, or at least a much straighter shot than before.
