Shift right so the ball sits forward to force release
This drill trains release and extension for a swing where the clubface stays too open and the arms can't stretch out. At address, shift about 4 to 5 inches to the right without turning the body, keeping the club square, so the ball ends up outside the left little toe. Swing slowly and focus on releasing the toe of the club head and stretching the arms straight down the target line. The instructor says the correct move should feel like you are pushing a little, whereas an open face feels like pulling, so feel the opposite.
